Fence building · Tyneside and the North East

A garden that feels like yours again.

A straight, solid fence changes how a garden feels. Neighbours out of view, the dog and the kids kept in, and a boundary that finally looks finished. Tell us about yours and we will send a written price.

  • Closeboard, featheredge, panel and post-and-rail, supplied and built
  • Posts concrete-set 300–600mm deep, gravel boards along the base

What a new fence gives you

Most people ring about a fence that is leaning or rotten. What they end up talking about is what they want the garden to be.

Privacy

Sit out without being on show

A 6ft closeboard run screens the patio from next door and the lane behind, so the garden becomes somewhere you actually use.

Kids and pets

Open the back door and relax

No gaps at the bottom, no loose boards, a gate that latches. The dog stays in, the ball stays in, and you stop doing laps of the boundary.

Security

A boundary that says private

A solid fence and a side gate that locks make the back of the house far less inviting to wander into.

A smart finish

Straight lines, boundaries sorted

Posts in line, tops level, gravel boards keeping the timber off the soil. One clean run where there used to be three different fences, and the whole garden looks tidier for it.

Tell us about your fence

It takes a couple of minutes. Rough measurements are fine; we will ask if anything is unclear.

How it works

  1. Send the details

Fill in the form with your address, the rough length and the type of fence you have in mind.

  2. Add a few photos

Straight after sending you can upload photos or WhatsApp them over. A picture of the old fence and the way in saves a lot of back and forth.

  3. Get a written price

We come back with a price and the next build slot. Runs over 10m get a free visit before we price.

  4. Book your date

Pick a slot that suits you. We bring the timber and build the fence.

  • A price in writing. Your quote comes by email before anything is booked.
  • Built to last the weather. Concrete-set posts and gravel boards under every run as standard.
  • Close by. Newcastle based, working across Tyneside, Durham and Northumberland.

Questions people ask us

How much does a new fence cost?

It depends on the length, the height, the type of fence and how easy the access is, which is why we price each job. Send the form with a few photos and we will come back with a written figure.

Do you need to come out and measure?

For runs over 10m we usually visit before pricing, free of charge. Smaller jobs and repairs can often be priced from photos.

How deep do the posts go?

Posts are concrete-set 300–600mm deep. Where they sit in that range depends on the fence height, how exposed the spot is and what the ground is like once we dig.

Can you take the old fence away?

Yes. Say so on the form and we will include taking it down and away in the price.

Which fence should I go for?

Closeboard is the strongest and most private for most gardens. Panels are quicker to swap a section at a time. Post-and-rail suits open boundaries and paddocks. We will talk it through with you; anything we suggest before seeing the job is guidance only.

Are the timber sizes exact?

Timber is a natural material, so sizes like 100 x 100mm or 1.8m are approximate cut sizes. Expect small variations from piece to piece.

Do you deliver on Saturdays?

No. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, and the yard is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

I only need the materials. Can I buy them?

Yes. Everything is in the shop, with delivery or click and collect from the yard.
