Blyth sleeper supply — raised beds, retaining walls, garden steps

Sleeper is what most Blyth fencers reach for first. Sleepers are heavy timber baulks — usually around 8" × 4" (200×100mm) — sized like the original railway sleepers but pressure-treated softwood, not creosoted oak. Good for almost anything that needs a chunky timber edge. We deliver across Blyth and Bedlington and the wider Northumberland footprint — Next-day.

Whether you're laying a single back-garden run on a Bedlington or Seaton Sluice property or quoting a multi-house developer plot, the timber's the same: pressure-treated softwood, sized properly, dropped where you need it.

Common uses

Raised vegetable beds, garden steps, retaining walls for sloping gardens, log-store sides, simple boundary edging, planter boxes.

How to install / use

Lay flat for retaining walls (use rebar through holes for stability above 3 courses), stand vertically for low boundaries, stagger joints. Cut with a chainsaw or a quality circular saw.

What Blyth looks like for fencing

Blyth's east coast is genuinely hostile to thin-spec fencing — we'll be back inside 5 years if we install standard spec. Always 4×4 pressure-treated posts, gravel boards, cap rail, galvanised fixings. West of the A189 (Bebside, New Hartley, west Bedlington) is sheltered and standard spec is fine.

Neighbourhoods we drop to: Bedlington, Seaton Sluice, Seghill, Newsham, Cowpen, Cambois, Bebside, New Hartley. Plus surrounding postcodes (NE22, NE24) — drop your postcode at checkout if you're unsure.
